My youngest sister, Rachel, and I have decided to bake and sell cookies online. Today we began with our first "example" batch and we really love this dove one.

This poor dove will undergo many facelifts and touch-ups before she's finally ready to go. Rest assured, I will let you know when she's ready to go...aaaand how much she costs.

I have a cousin named Joel. This is his DVD collection. This is also only one third of the amount of DVDs in the house, as his older brother, Jesse, has a few shelves more. AND his parents have their own set. They are literal Blockbuster shelves they bought from a store going out of business. Guess what I'm doing tonight!

Here's the deal about today: I debated actually posting this photo for a few different reasons. One, it's not some beautiful photo that is going to change anybody's life (not that any of the previous ones have). Two, I blurred out the license plate. Three, it kind of makes me feel like a mean person.

But really, I'm just helping them along with a bit of free advertising, right?

I was driving to meet my awesome friend, Laura, for lunch, and happened to stop at a light with this vehicle in my direct line of vision. Now, I don't know where you're mind goes first. Maybe you're thinking, "Hm, someone didn't leave enough room for the 'S'" or maybe you're thinking, "So what do I do, walk up to the driver's side door?" or maybe you're thinking, "I could really go for a chocolate-coconut somoa right now."

I did think of all of those things simultaneously, but the first thing I thought when I saw this vehicle was this: marijuana.

Drug dealer. "Girl Scout Cookie" SUUUUUUURE. How 'bout them leaves coming out of your "cookie" advertisement?

Please, never I have never done drugs. And I did Google "marijuana leaf" about five minutes ago just to make sure that my knowledge of a marijuana leaf's form, which I base completely off of pop culture references, is correct.

I'm sorry. I need to interrupt myself. What was I just talking about? I just Googled "samoa cookie" and came across this: Samoa-Cookie Cupcakes

I think I just found a great way to spend my afternoon. Um...I'll see y'all tomorrow.

Today I was inspired by Rachel's shoes and the warm January weather we've been having.

This was taken in our front yard when we got back from the teeny-tiny cake supply store that I will surely frequent now that I'm far away from the Super-Walmart-sized cake supply store I left behind on 26th Street. Heaven knows why I found the aisles of color coded candy coatings and wedding cake toppers to be so euphoric.

Anyway, enjoy the feet!

I was about to post a boring picture of the sky. I needed a wider lens to really capture how beautiful it was tonight, but I was losing light fast oh and also, I don't have a wider lens.

And then my sister brought me my mail. A pink envelope from my "not-so-secret admirer" in Crooklyn, NY and I knew fate had handed me a gift. And I would like to share that gift with you.

I started off my morning the right way today. It's been awhile, but I was happy to jump back into reading Isaiah. Coffee and the Bible are the most perfect pairing. Forget biscotti or breakfast sandwiches, Starbucks should give out a Bible verse o' the day with their mochas. Right?

........

I totally didn't mean to go there. I meant to go here: a quick story about fountains. I can't remember if it started out as a dream or a vision, but for a few long years now, I've had this picture of a fountain in my head. The closest thing I can describe it to is an old, constantly-flowing, stone thing of beauty right smack in the middle of Rivendell, where the elves in the Lord of the Rings lived (or live?). And also, I'm always there, sitting on the edge. And also, God is always there. And also, everything is beautiful and perfect. I like to go there in my head and rest. If I could imagine heaven, that would be it.

This morning I came across a mention of the waters of Shiloah in Isaiah 8:6. My Bible is an amplified version and it described the waters of Shiloah like this: "The only perennial fountain of Jerusalem, and symbolic of God's protection and sustaining power."

And now. I know. After all these years. What that fountain in my head means. Every time the Lord reminds me of it, He is reminding me of His protection and sustaining power.

I researched (Googled) the waters of Shiloah and found that when Jesus healed the blind man in John 9, he told him to wash in the Pool of Siloam (also known as, the waters of Shiloah). He went and washed and came back seeing.

I just really love that.

Here's a view into my room this morning. It's okay if you can't tell what anything is - I can't either. It's just a bunch of boxes and clothes and STUFF that I shipped from New York to home in anticipation of my move to Austin.

Not really the best atmosphere for sleeping, which is why I sleep in my sister's bed while she's off at college. Hey Lauren! I drool a lot and never change the sheets! Love ya!

For lunch, Tricia (my sister's best friend/my other sister's good friend/newly married/basically our fourth sister) and I made black bean and chickpea hummus, which you should try.

(Seems I can't blog without posting a recipe - even on a picture blog.)

We also worked out hardcore and can't wait to feel sore tomorrow before we do it all again!

I'm 25 today! This is what I look like when I'm 25. This is what I look like in my new favorite-ever birthday present - cowboy boots. It's a sunny, warm afternoon. Much unlike the freak freeze that I was born in.

This picture represents me being 25 and living with my parents. Because I'm 25 and I'm sitting in front of my parents' house. If any day is a day for a quarter-life crisis, this is it.

Happy birthday to me! Welcome to my 25th year!
